Jien u d-Dar
Translates to: 'Me and the Home'. The project is a study that initiated from my interest about every person’s dwelling, particularly my own home.
Jien u d-Dar is an analysis about the dweller, the Maltese house, and the notion of home – the dweller, someone who makes use of the house; the Maltese house, a place where ends meet both for physical and psychological needs; and home, where where the former two come together. A defining characteristic of the traditional Maltese house is in the form of Maltese tiles. This important feature was used and a modular illustrated typeface was developed to communicate the message.
Jien u d-Dar was exhibited during the second edition of Divergent Thinkers at St James Cavalier, Valletta from 19th October till 10th November 2013.
